The restoration of a landmark brownstone in Clinton Hill section of Brooklyn started from the idea of salvaging the original details and boiserie of the house and integrate them into a minimalist contemporary re-configuration of the space.
A fluid and porous layout has been created maximizing the use of every floor and direct relationship with the outdoor space and the garden.
The sequence of spaces inside the house have been highlighted and defined with cove lights that will mark the boundary of each room.
A drop ceiling has been added in the living room of the parlor floor to create space for the air conditioning ducts and to accommodate a LED cove light to light the existing ceiling moulding.
