Collective Visions Festival is a laboratory of urban regeneration through art, architecture, and culture with the active participation of the diverse communities of San Ferdinando. It consists of two artist residencies, architecture workshops, and public events on the beach. The workshops take place in collaboration between the nonprofit organization Disìo and Architensions, led by Alessandro Orsini and Nick Roseboro. Several internationally renowned architects took part of the festival, among them MAIO Architects of Barcelona and MOS Architects of New York, to share their experiences working with the collective and facilitate conversations to help the community envision the future of San Ferdinando.

The festival aims to advance a project of cultural, urban, and social values for the village of San Ferdinando by encouraging local community participation, focusing on a vision that promotes the “commons” and centers equality, access to resources, and alternative forms of mutual help. To accommodate the festival’s various activities, Architensions designed three pavilions for the town’s two main plazas. These pavilions became a symbol of the festival and served as semi-enclosed canopies to shade people from the summer heat. Local timber is used for the structure, and burlap fabric is used to filter sunlight. The construction of the structures was part of workshops where volunteers helped build spatial toolkits, such as furniture, tables, and seating, deployed in designated public spaces.
